Default Hesitation on acceleration

Hi guys,
Just got my second scooby shes a 2004 wrx but has had rebuild with sti parts by ZEN Performance LTD. i am have slight Hesitation on acceleration before boost and when in 4th at 6k the power cuts out, once it cuts at 6k and comes back she carrys on like normal, its not overboost as boost guage dosent go past 1.4bar. Im thinking its a fuel cut. and ideas would be very welcome also there are the rebuild sheets that i copied just incase you need to no the spec

Does this just happen in 3rd, 4th and 5th?

Almost sounds like a spark plug, but that would affect all gears.
I would have thought fuel cut would behave in a similar way too?

Yes, but more likely to overboost in higher gears, especially in this cold weather.

I would expect it to be in 3rd, 4th and 5th for overboost, but it doesnt mean it wont do that
I would check the boost solenoid and clean it out, if the car is decatted then overboosting would be more common, especially if the car was mapped in summer, I would also give your mapper a shout as they may be able to shine some more light on it

Hi Guys,

My version 1 wrx sti was way overboosting in all gears, it was cuting out like a fuel cut of, this morning i had a look and the actuator was tuned to the max (dumb plonkers ), so i detune the threads to close abit of wastegate, i took my car for a run and bloody hell it was a roket, but im still having overboost issues,

What could that be , could it be spark plugs, broken coil pack or just the terible cold weather and cars suking in to much cold air ,

My cars is fully decated inc manifold, and has a hks induction kit.

Cheers

Sorry for the late reply, my car is decat and seams to do it worse in the cold, i really need someone who knows what they are looking for as my knowlage for these newage scoobys is limited.

if i pull away in 1st flat out it judders untill the turbo cuts in.
its hard to explain.

Sounds like lots of decats causing fuel cut due to overboost in cold weather, apart from the last guy. Check error codes etc

2001 bug eye wrx, 3" decat all the way through, pinks, sti intercooler, walbro, vf30, pfr7bs and a remap by duncan. But the maf went not long after thrremap and have changed for one that works.

Only started doing it after the maf was changed and the cold weather started, been misfireing every now and then.
