Default help needed getting fed up now.

hi, since my top rad hose split on my94 wrx import i have been having a nightmare. i have changed the coolant and top hose, then noticed no hot air coming thru blowers and water dripping from bottom hose. i replaced bottom hose and stuck new thermostat in it, thought happy days. but today when driving to work, still no hot air so was freezing my **** off lol. and water/steam was coming out overflow. this happened after 20mins of driving or so. fans kick in ok. top hose is fine, the bottom hose feels like water is in it but dont seem to get warm. hope its an air lock, cuz if its the headgasket it will be going up for sale. also while i remember it was boosting ok, yet wont let go over 4k revs before judders, could this be the maf, its all going wrong merry xmas ay

ive had the same symptoms as you 12 months ago, then the clutch bit the dust aswell so thought I might aswell take the lump out and do head gaskets and clutch together and refit with a new radiator, my problems have since dissapeared. Try the next cheapest option first (new rad, ebay £60) could be silted up not allowing flow.

You want to run it with the filler cap of to allow the air out,if when theres no air and the car is hot the heater doesnt work i would suspect the water pumps at fault

My mate had this problem with his Tomita Kaira Wagon after his inlet hose split ( heater matrix ) He changed it, bled the system, Had the heaters working but it kept over heating, he recently found out that the exit hose ( heater matrix ) was blocked, since he cleaned it out. He no longer has overheating problems... Just a thought.

put the hose pipe through the matrix hoses to confirm there isnt a blockage

If your doing the water pump, you'll need to do the timing belt as well, unless your planning on refitting the belt (not a good idea) and anytime i do a belt i ALLWAYS do the idlers because they have done as much work as the belt.

You could allways just stick a pump on it first to see if it cures the problem, Ive changed pumps before that look ok but there a sealed unit and might spin ok, but the can still be fcuked.

Where are ye based, if your close could help...

my belt was done about 1000miles ago. my brother is a mechanic. however he is in the falklands with the army at the minute. which pipes are the heater matrix ones? as ill give them a flush see what happens. cold weather may have frozen them or something.
