Is it not safe to use the jacking points on the along the sills? I've heard of some scary stories of the sills getting dented under pressure.

I know you can use them on the jacking points but then that is where I will be jacking the car up as i don't have a trolley jack.

I put them where the chassis leg is at the front behind where the jacking point is for the side jack, If yours has the cradle on still you will see it flattens out.

Is the name "axle" stand then a bit misleading harking back to the days when cars were a bit more simple?

The picture on the side of the box ( Draper )shows them being used on the sills so clearly they are indeed sill stands!
