Default Battery dead, am i screwed ?

As everyone knows it's been a bit nippy lately

The problem is i last drove my 01 Bugeye wagon WRX last Friday.
When i started it ,it was a little slow in turning over so i took it out for 1/2 an hour to put some life back into the battery.

Well i could'nt disarm the alarm this morning,no flashing led on the dash. Unlocked it via the key and no alarm went off. Uhh Ohh. Battery flatter than roadkill.
I've ordered a new battery but the problem is when i fit the new battery is there going to be a problem with the alarm/immobiliser ?

As said, unless there's a problem with your alarm it will be fine. Have had my battery on and off with no issues.

Mark, it's a pity you didn't post up in the Welsh section as I can get batteries direct from the manufacturer at a much lower price than you can get from your local motor factor or Halfrauds.

Just as a matter of interest when you got your car started the other day did you switch on all the electrical systems on the car ie lights, radio, heater as the alternator on your car will only start to re-charge the battery when it perceives that the electrical system is under load.

I hope that then you took it out for a run you turn of everything that could be turned on.

Last time I had a flat battery, Subaru assist said that I was to get as much electrics on as possible during the drive.

Yes the last run was radio on,heaters, rear window demister and even put the windows down and up to clear the frost haha !

Wish i'd known that Ty, sods law aint it.

Missed a few meetings now what with one thing and another, gonna try for the next one.

Good news about everything should be ok with new battery fitting. I'd envisaged that the immobiliser would lock down as it was'nt disarmed prior to battery removal so a trip to the main dealers to remove it.
Ive always had an issue with the onboard keypad in the fact i hav'nt got the code.

I've tried the overide feature listed in the electrical forum but the led flashes as i'm typing in the numbers.

Suck it and see i guess

What is the recommended amp rating for the battery? Been told 80amps minimum for new age with gauges etc.
