Default Strange noise.....

Wondering if someone can shed a bit of light on this one...

Got a Standard (no mods) UK Turbo 2000 with 100,000 miles Fsh, blah blah...

On cold start up I can hear a strange noise that I can only describe as someone chattering their teeth when their freezing cold coming from engine. It's not a knock or a bang and tbh is not loud, you would have to be silent to hear it. Once engine is warm and into the drive it goes away. On idle once warm nothing, and the performance and driving is not affected in any way. Hope this and my teeth analogy make sense! Lol any ideas cause it is annoying not knowing what it is. ?

Thanks alot in advance.........

I'm using millers oil 10w 40 mate. If it was piston slap would this be a major worry. As I said it's not very loud, and goes after engine is warm. Car is always warmed/cooled properly too. Thanks........

It is a common thing mate and as long as you use decent oil and allow the car to warm up properly (8-10 miles to reach 80c) then i would not worry too much ok
