Default Headgasket

Folks...here's the symptoms..

When I am driving the heater will blow loadsa warm air. But This last few weeks I've noticed that after sitting ticking over for a few minutes some times she will blow nothing but cold air until u start driving again.

Also, she's using quite a bit of coolant/water.

You guys think a headgasket could be on its way out, or am I just being paranoid lol?

Have you checked fir oil in the water or water in the oil? That's a pretty good indication.

Not necessarily for the impreza. In my experience gases end up pressurising the cooling system & water is lost through the exhaust & the expansion reservoir.

Have a feel and see if any of your carpets are getting wet up at the front to make sure your heater matrix isnt leaking.

I assume youve looked under the bonnet for traces of leaking coolant and checked around the radiator is all OK and not corroded or leaking.

The Subaru Head Gaskets tend to leak between the combustion chamber and the cooling system & under these circumstances there will no mixing of oil and water.
