I always just fill it through the header tank with car running and heaters on. The header tank can look full but just keep the cap off and keep topping it up every couple of minutes untill it wont take any more.

Use quality stuff, suitable for an alloy engine and described as having corrosion inhibitors.

Fill slowly. I use a funnel poked into the rearmost pipe from the header tank, which I remove for purpose of filling. DO NOT allow the liquid to glug, or it air locks. Mine took half an hour to fill, but was right first time.

Have the heater on hot. Start engine with header tank full, cap off, and watch for bubbles, mopping up spills and topping up until no more bubbles appear. Replace cap and go for a run. Allow to cool and check levels again, topping up as necessary.

I think he was indicating the amount of antifreeze needed

i work on a 50/50 ratio, so 3 litres in a 7+ litre system is about right (ish)

[QUOTE=RS74;9754588]yep was on about how much anti freeze then add water[/QUOTe

a good 50/50 mix will maybe even abit more antifreeze as i dont think u can put to much in , it has a much higher boiling point than water so shud help in the cooling side on things aswell. :}
