hi,

I bought a MY98 UK scooby with a boost gauge already
fitted to it, but since then the black hollow pipe
going to the gauge has melted on the exhaust causing it to
break in half. Can you just buy a new pipe or have you got to
buy a new fitting kit, also will this cause any harm until
I get it fixed..?

any info much appreciated...LEE MAC

Lightbulb

Previously i've used a windscreen washer tubing (halfords) and aquarium tubing etc.

Just make sure its not too stiff that it won't make a good seal with the manifold and gauge and that it's not too floppy that it collapses under vacuum (if you easily squash the walls together with two fingers then its too weak).

It's best to block off the end going to the engine until you can repair it. It will either be sucking in unfiltered air into the engine or leaking your boost away depending on pressure inthe manifold).
