Hi,

My car (1995 wrx) has developed a coolant leak its is coming from the sump area, its dripping about once a second.... its on the right hand side of the engine as you look at it..... does anyone know of anything in this area that may leak.... i.e the water pump.. where abouts is the water pump...???

Any help would be great.... as ive only had the car 1 week... the dealer will fix the problem but i just wanted to know whats around this area incase he trys to fob me off by sticking rad weld in it or something...

Cheers

Dan

yep the water pump is there inline with the split in the timing covers right behind them so if it's close to the front of the engine chances are it's that or the thermostat gasket which hangs off the bottom of the water pump. there are also some rubber pipes that join on to the water pump so it could be that as well.
