engine misses when cold

engine misses when cold
Hi,
My wife has a 98 Impreza Turbo which she has owned since 2000. It has 70k on the clock and has been regularly serviced by main dealer.
About three weeks ago it has developed a misfire when cold which appears when accelerating. As soon as throttle is lifted slightly then it disappears. It goes away when engine is hot. The dealer fitted a new air sensor and no difference. He cannot see any problem on diagnostic.
I would appreciate any suggestions.
