I'll have a totally standard 52,000 mile engine from a 2004 Blobeye WRX for sale in the next couple of weeks.

Drop me a PM if you're interested

Hi, i would look into one of the 2.1 stroker kits that are available, they are very well priced and seem to be helping to get good results. From the like of Engine tuner, Lateral,Scooby clinic etc.
Ive just had one built from Engine tuner and am very happy with it, worth a few phone calls.

so you hadnt added the mods when the bottom end went, low mileage for bottom end to go really must be unlucky mate do you drive it hard.

as above if second hand engine source from someone trusty or get it fixed by garage with good rep spend your money once

no only just got all the parts together, just dont know what way to go now,was going to use a td05 16g and keep the power down to around 300bhp,didnt want to stress the engine lol ,but now i am considering using an sti engine and sell off some of the bits i have bought.

How much does it cost to have new pistons and rods fitted just out of curriosity? that would be taking the car into someone and not just the engine? anybody?

on a failure its not just about having the damaged parts change ,your talking crank/ oil pump cambelt anythin thats worn etc your looking at around 1500 i believe if you take the engine to them give or take a bit
