do i defenately need the head skimmed?
or jus change the head gasket?

get them check by a company to see if they need it alot of the time the heads to not need to be skimmed but you do want to get them checked first thou as it would be a real **** if they went back on and then you find out

IMPORTANT: if either the heads or the blocks DO need skimmed, DO ensure that you buy thicker gaskets to keep the compression ratio as it was. I didn't, as I didn't know any better, and the result was it helped my engine to go pop.

i dont wana ask someone to have a look, n them turn round n say it needs skimming without me knowin if it does or not

That will depend on who does the heads, surely?

If it's a Scoob specialist, then either they will know an engineering place, or they will do the work.

If you are doing it yourself, use yell.com to find a local engineering place and take the heads to them.

It's more likely the heads will need skimmed than the block.

im an engineer n sould do it, i just aint got the machine
im thinkin new pistons and rods while the engine is apart
16 pistons right?
