Default parallel fuel rail mod

Hi guys, just want pointing in the right direction with regards to the fuel rail mod.

Im going to be running my 96 classic type ra in track days and sprints with 330ish td05 16g, yellow injectors, fmic, cosworth baffle plate, oil cooler, heat wrapped pipe work and turbo, gems ecu, etc and was wondering if the fuel rail mod was gonna be a worthwhile mod and if their is any good guides on how to diy.

Im on a budget so wanna do it as cheap as pos. I heard you can do the parallel thing for not alot. Also would i need a aftermarket fpr for this sort of power and injectors? Many thanx. tim.

At the power level you are going for and a long way beyond you do not need a parallel fuel rail mod. Nice to have if you have money to spend but not essential for what you are doing. There are probably other more important things to spend your money on.

That's the reason we're going to look at doing it. We will probably up the power later on as well so probably a worthwhile mod??

Providing you have a good fuel pump and your fuel pressure regulator is working properly you will have absolutely no problem until a long way past 450 bhp. I have run successfully at 535 bhp without parallel fuel rails.
The Walbro GS341 or GS342 pump often referred to as Walbro 255 lph starts to become marginal around 450 bhp plus at which point I would use an uprated pump. That is the time I would look at a parallel fuel rail mod.

Although Harvey know his stuff IMO the OE FPR on the early classics at this age now can become unreliable, especially when uprating the fuel pump to a Walbro. So I changed to an adjustable FPR as a precaution. The FPR is the expensive bit, once you have decided to use one it costs very little to do a DIY parallel rails mod, if you do then you can reverse the flow so that No.3 get the fuel before No.1
