Question

I keep reading about people getting downpipe conversions...

Does this envolve removing the cat, and if so does this not make the car have problems with emmision levels.

I have a imported MY94 Sti and am wondering if this is a worthwhile mod.

Any rough prices for the job?

Cheers

Splat!

Yeh, a new DP gives a fair power increase (10bhp?) and reduced turbo lag from what I can gather...you get bigger gains if rest of system is replaced with freer flowing components though. Though your STi centre and back box might be freer flowing than the usual standard twin exit of the WRXs and UK models?

Scoobs have 2 cats and can pass current MOTs with one...so if you just replace the DP with a decat one the cat in the centre section should keep it legal.

Apaprently worth doing though....not sure how much it costs to fit a DP but raw parts cost starts at like £190 ish
