Hi Scoobyneters, anyone heard any water/fluid sloshling around while driving about in a Scooby/bugeye around the center console/gear box area? I only notice this when i take off in the morning ie. cold start.. any ideas?? i'm thinking it might be rain build up? into the dash or something? as i haven't noticed this before?

Yes its air in the heater matrix and most Impreza'a have the similar problem. I hear it first thing when starting up, had the car 3 years now and its never been a problem just one of those things

sounds like your cooling system has a air lock somewhere in it. bes way to cure it is to drain system and fill it back up again, mybe check why it got air locked mybe a hole in your radiator or in one of your pipes, hope this helps buddy.

I had the same thing after a service that replaced the coolant. It was an air lock that they could never get out. I tried burping the system loads and it didn't help. Mine sounded worse when cold and less noticeable when hot.

I've got a similar problem, just got rid of a large airlock in my system too, only hear it at standstill, soon after driving....
Thought could possibly be air trapped, but may have to create a vacume in the system, then replace coolant.

hmm.. i did notice this after a full service & then had a prob with the rad which needed to be changed incl new fluids etc.. I did also try to top up the aircon myself with a do it yourself kit from Halfrauds which didn't work but i did notice a pipe metal type piece hose looking quite rusty that may probably be a leak in the system mentioned? i don't know.. still baffed what to do?
ps. scary comment about gas entering the system due to head gasket problems.. well worried that its might be this too now.

if the car isnt over heating then there shouldnt be too much to worry about doesnt sound like a head gasket keep an eye on your coolant levels see wot happens with them. or to give you complete peace of mind get a sniffer test done that will tell u if u have a blown head gasket any garage should be happy to do it.

hmm.. the water temps always showing the same temp once heated (just over the quarter line mark from cold to hot say.. but the oil temps do show around 95/100deg C on the defi gauges once heated & can over the 100deg C mark doing motorway journeys. Are the temps similar on your cars?? only thing i got that might be differnt to your cars is a FMIC - some times i feel like getting a uprated oil cooler too as i think its a tad high for the oil temps i think? i haven't noticed any oil & water mixing.. maybe i will have to bring it to a garage to get it checked out! headgaskets going.. are they expensive to change on the scoobys? probably are.. like everything else - then again i can't complain (they are great sports cars for the value & if compared to any other standard cars out there in the same price region i can't really fault them)
