Hi,
I have a lumpy tickover and sometimes a bit of fluffing when accelarating.
I looked at the breather on the left hand side of the block and there is a bit of oil there. Would a crappy seal cause this ? I used the check engine light to check for sensor faults and there were none.
Where could I get a gasket for the breathere and how much are they ????

Cheers

I had the same problem with the lumpy idle, nothing showing up on diagnostics but dealer replaced the oxygen sensor and this seems to have fixed it.

Try the MAF sensor. I have bad idle before & took the sensor out & cleaned it with cotton buds & carb cleaner - very carefully.

This cured it perfectly. The sensor was very dirty but not showing up any error code!

Question

Jmca,

Do you know the location of the MAF sensor on a STI v4 ?

Rossc,

Should be between the air filter & the turbo intake. I have a MY95 so the sensor is different to yours I think, but the position should generally be the same.

Regards

Johny
