hi guys, can anyone tell me if it is an easy job job to swap over my standard dumpvalve to a louder after market one? Should a novice mechanic, such as i take on the job?

To put this another way: Don't do it. Your car is designed to run well with a recirc type valve. A VTA type will upset it's running and CAN cause damage.

The sound WILL get tiresome, I have an Afterburner exhaust that is quite loud, I havent grown tired of that but my Forge came off after a month because I became too ashamed to change gear!

For what it is worth it's a really easy DIY job ..... but as some of the guys have already said I wouldn't bother. I swapped mine for about 3 months and soon went back to the standard. Ultimately it's your car and your decision mate.

Dead easy job remove the 2 x 12 mm bolts holding your oe dump on the intercooler & remove the vacume pipe.Using pliers release the spring clip which connects to the recirc hose(which faces down on a new age)and pull valve off.
Fit a 31 mm bung in recirc pipe and attach spring clip, you can do away with the turbo inlet tube or cut the recirc pipe & bung it off ,but dont bother as if you want to switch back to the std dump valve you dont need any additional piping. Attach dump valve to intercooler with 2 bolts ,reconnect vacume hose - away you go

As has already been said, the best way forward here is to leave the standard one on. So, while it's your car and you can ultimately do whatever you like with it, the first decision you want to make is whether you want to spend money on a component that will compromise the optimal running of your engine in return for making an unnecessary noise.

I could think of plenty of ways to spend some money that'd actually make the car work better, rather than worse.
