Hybrid TD04
Been looking at one of these from Andy Forest
http://www.andyforrestperformance.co.uk/16307.html
Car is 2005 WRX with Milltek decat, Ecutek remap, Walbro fuel pump.
Anyone with any experience of the above or similar.
I'm not after bags more power, need a replacement turbo and this one seems to tick the boxes. Bob

I have a bit of experience with those and a properly set up one will give you an excellent roadcar. All the throttle response and flexibility of your current turbo but with much better performance at higher engine speeds.
One thing to bear in mind (if you're not already aware of it) is that you will need a bit of a map tweak if you fit one so make sure you figure that into whatever costings you're working up.

The figures Andy quotes are about those I'm after..

think you need sti pinks though to get the most from it, but can be picked up cheap enough. I was thinking of one of these when I had my wrx as sounded just right for what I wanted, but never got round to it before changing my car. Don't think you would regret it at all.

I think it is a superb turbo.
I had one on my 06 WRX, which was mapped by Andy.
Superb for real world driving.
Also achieved 30mpg on a motorway run at 80/85 gentle throttle to London and back from Scotland.
highly reccommend transforms the car in a very quick machine, yet not a rev monster which I find tiring to drive.
2.5wrx did not need much changing.
Hotter plugs were optional for the summer, I had a Prodrive PPP car modified so already had a Prodrive exhaust and uprated inetrcooler pipe.
I had the turbo put on with a K and N and got over 310 bhp and 370ftLb torque.
On basic Super unleaded Esso/Shell due to where I live Esso is nearer.
On a 2L I remember reading and test that a hybrid TD4 outperformed a TD5 due to the fact that the car accelerated so fast from low rpm that a TD5 which needed more revs could never catch up even though it felt faster because the acceleration started higher up the rev range,by which time the TD4 hybrid was moving rapidly.
Real world driving!
On my car it ran perfectly to 6000rpm where a TD5 may rev a bit higher and still be pulling strong, but who drives to max rpm all the time?
