Hope some 1 can help,drove the car to thorpe park yesterday no probs on way back started to mis fire and judder. This morning took plugs out all very sooted up cleaned them checked coils for cracks ect nothing put in drove fine 10 miles later mis firing again plugs sooted up again. Only use car at w.e s and haven t changed anythink could it be something to do with the cold weather that has hit us this week

I take it you've done a fault code check.

I would be looking at, either lambda or CTS in the first instance. But as you know, sensor illimination can be expensive and trying.

sorry was rushing on lap top gf wanted lap top back lol. how can i check lambda and whats the cts mate cheers rob

No worries mate.

Lambda can be checked with a multi-meter and CTS is, Coolant Temp Sensor. It can fail open or closed, closed will give you difficult cold starts and open is like running full choke all the time.

Done this before.If you've still got standard ecu, plug it in, drive car off boost and see if it flings a cel up, then check code. Borrow an ecu if you've not got one....
