Oil cooler advice
Hi, recently bought my self an oil cooler from a Snet member, and am looking at fitting it in the near future. I have a few questions regarding the fitting etc.
1. If i spray the cooler black how badly will it affect the performance of it?
2. Do i go for a thermostatic sandwich plate or not?
3. How do i work out how much extra oil to add on a service?
Thanks
Mike

1. It will slightly affect it, but if you'd really notice the difference, not sure? Quite a few people spray their intercoolers to no ill effect.
2. Yeah, you want a thermostat on it
3. Easiest way would be to fill the pipes and cooler up with oil, then measure what you've poured in.

Mike, one question before you go further: What average and peak oil temperatures are you seeing at the moment, and what is the state of tune/modification of your engine at the moment?
