Default Oil grade - what to use?

I have a 54 sti, need to know what oil to use, car is on 55k, not used that often. Got a track day booked this Monday, want to give it a change, needs to be something off the shelf in halfords or local parts shop, what can you guys recommend. Thanks rez

just had an oil change they put in 10w -40 for the winter

I would use a 5w-40 synthetic and you will find those through the link below.

Out of those, the best ones are the Fuchs/Silkolene Pro S, Motul 300V, Redline and Gulf Competition. The Motul 8100 X-Cess, Millers XFS, Fuchs Supersyn and Mobil Synt S are good, cheaper alternatives.

As a budget choice, a 10w-40 will be fine and I would either go for the Fuchs XTR, Millers XSS or Motul 6100

hi there, i would normally use yourselfs, but i need it for this afternoon unfortunately.
