Default car misses like its runing out of petrol

Cars a Jap import classic. lately it has started to hesistate, symptoms excatly like its about to run out of petrol, only appears to do it between 2-3000rpm. Occasionally it will stall when u clutch approaching junctions etc.Drives fine under hard acceleration, and is intermittent. Have changed fuel filter and run it with injector cleaner added, but to no avail. Any help much appreciated.

Sounds to me like your fuel pump may be on its way out.

dont want to thread high jack but i also have this exact prob, ive changed plugs, maf, oil+filter, fuel filter ive also checked n cleaned boost solenoid+idle control valve, replaced all boost hoses+intercooler hoses to samcos(just an excuse) but after the above i still have thr prob. i have wondered about the fuel pump(i can still hear it prime)as ive been told the wires under the rear seat are **** to wear in short, i have not as yet had time to look but will in the next few days. looks to me fuel related as ive tried all the above, saying that my car is 13yrs old now so the fuel pumps done allot of work. if it is the pump i will go for a walbro 255, i think they work out cheaper than the o.e? please let me know if you find the prob
