Default Decatting GC8 Wagon on a remap?

Hi all, I've just been on ebay and bought a powerflow stainless decat pipe for my turbo 2000 wagon, i've been told by a lot of people that this will free up some power that is being held back, the guy also offered me the stainless centresection which i'll be mating to my scorpion backbox.

As the car has been remapped i was wondering if these changes will affect anything? I've got a walbro fuel pump, ramair filter, and the car has been remapped, but i don't know where as it was done by the previous owner.

any help/ advice greatly appreciated, I'm thinking of having the car on a rolling road at Rowleys Motorsport in devon soon to see if these new bits produce a nice power gain

If you are decatting the car then I would defo advis at a minimum have the fuelling checked, to make sure it is not running lean but to get full gain from the exhaust a remap is needed.

Do you know what map it has? ECUtec, sim tec etc? It will always help when it comes to remapping.

If the car has been mapped already it is even more important to get mapped again than if it had not been mapped. This is because the map has been setup to the current car spec and changing away from that without having it tweaked or checked by a mapper may cause engine damage.

ahh cool, thanks for both your advice, I've been underneath today and it would appear i've already got a decat centrebox, but 2.5" not 3", so the plot thickens, its a long old drive to rowleys, so think i'll leave it off for the time being and ponder it a bit.

With regard to the last map i'm really unsure, is there any way i'd be able to identify it? I'm a bit new to this level of modifying

Thanks all once again, i'd be lost without you
