Your standard headers are un-equal length, thats what gives yolu the "scoobie rumble". Unless your going over 400bhp you dont need tubular headers. I tried some with just over 300bhp and the drop in low end grunt wasnt worth the extra you get at high revs. I now have ported standard headers. Its a free mod and defo worth while.

Don't go for cheap headers aka eBay stuff etc.,if you really want try Headers guru Harvey which selling ported headers,or GT Spec headers, but these headers i recommend if you are aiming up to big bhp,to 350BHP get your headers ported by "headers guru" Harvey.
Just stay away from these headers

Hi, not wanting to slag anyone or their products off but a mate of mine got a japspeed manifold from ebay and i can say the quality was not upto much to say the least. Poor unfinished welds and the inside of the joins was shocking.
Id stay clear and spend my money on some well proven ones from a decent source.

There is nothing wrong with the RCM headers as such but you need to change the uppipe to get the things to spool and the fact that the uppipe is slip jointed removes all the stress that can build up in the header set from a solid uppipe.
Your first question has to be whether you are better with tubular headers or the OE headers ported with a matched uppipe. Unless you have a biggish turbo it is odds on that ported and matched headers are your best bet.
