Exclamation diagnosis help

i am in desperate need of some help. I have a strange problem with my car which is a 2.0 sport. The problem is that when im driving, the only way i can describe this is, i feel like there is alot of resistance from the accelarator pedal. If you can imagine a stretched out elastic band at the point its going to snap. Thats what it feels like. Hope that makes sense. Im scared to give it the beans and never rev above 3k. Im going to take it too a garage at the weekend i was just hoping someone would know what might be going on.
Thanks

When the car is off how does the pedal feel?

Is there anything catching at the throttle body end?

Can you move the lever at the throttle body end ok?

thanks mate for your reply. I took the car to my mechanic this morning and he seems to think it was a combo of clutch slip and the car is running very lean :s due to maf most likely. So ive booked it in and should be getting sorted. Thanks though. Just on the off chance do you know if turbo drive shafts will fit a sport?
