hi we just bourt a mint wrx sti with a few mods etc we have noticed over the last few days a red light saying check engine pops on few a few seconds then goes off may happen 3 - 4 times aday? ive checked oil water etc etc all good and cars runs sweet as any ideas??? all the best daz ps its a import 2006 but its a 1996

dont go spending any money on parts until you have checked the fault code,under the dash by the steering column you will find two connectors,plug them into each other,turn the key until dash lights up,chek light will flash a few times pause and then flash a few more times, the first flashes for example,ten flashes,then the next set four flashes gives you a code of fourteen,then go to jolly green monsters web site,go to engine codes and you will find exactly what the problem is,hope this helps.

Ony exception is classics fitted with some aftermarket ecu's. My96 WRX has a SimTek so I cannot read the codes anymore.
