Default Closed Deck Blocks

Do cdb get weaker with age and miles ? or is it ok to rebiuld an old cdb aiming for about 450 bhp ?

as far as i know it doesnt get weaker mate,as long as there hasnt been to much corrosion going on inside the water jackets,and if your going over size on the pistons then the bore will be fine as well

was thinking of a scooby clinic 2.1 stroker kit in it. is it very risky buying one that has been knocking ? as i will be puting a new crank / bearings in it anyways

if your putting new everything in side then it won't be a problem mate

dont know about alloy blocks, but I was told cast iron ones can get stronger with age

thats very true as bmw used to leave the blocks they used for the formula 1 turbo charged engined out side to age for a while before doing work on them lol

Ahh just been looking in to it further may be better off buying a full engine already done, will give one of the known biulders a call when i get back to the uk
