Red face

Just has a Prodrive backbox and decat centre section fitted on my MY00 Turbo. Seems ok until I get over 3000rpm. Then there is an incredible wooshing sound and seems like it doesnt boost completely. Kinda like the sound of a dump valve but without the whistling. Is the exhaust leaking or is the car doing something silly due to the new exhaust? Kinda worried since I dont want to break anything.

Cool

Don't worry, it's supposed to sound like that ! Kind of like a jet fighter and ripping loads of bubble wrap all at the same time. I was worried at first until I heard another one do the same. Now I love the sound - try driving around with the rear windows down, particularly in tunnels and near walls etc . It should boost fine though (do you have a boost gauge)? My MY00 PPP boosts to hold around 17psi in this mild weather.

Cheers
Richard

Talking

From what I've heard about the Prodrive exhausts, they do tend to make a 'whooshing' noise above 3k.

It is very loud though. Kinda like a 911 (996) Twin Turbo on max boost just louder. Hard to tell if the performance is down or not though. First time I thought h0ly $hit I am going to take off!!!
