'96 is iirc the change over year. Are you sure you have the right airbox and i assume you have tried rotating the MAF as the 4 holes are not square

i brought the airbox as recomended in my other thread on her heading (airbox/pipework help pls) fits fine apart from the holes not rite. if the correct maf can i just drill out the holes and put a washer either side as will no longer have the metal insert in the holes in the box ?

Measure between the holes on the airbox. If they are 52mmx92mm then that box is for the green lable maf

99.99% sure you can not run a green maf on yours, you need the later air box

I haven't read your other thread, but it's possible you've bought and airbox for a 1997/8 UK/WRX which is fitted with a smaller, purple label MAF - You obviously need one for a 1997/8 STi

It sounds like you have the correct MAF sensor ( with orange label )

The early 1992-1996 green label maf and airbox is not suitable for your car - The MAF will cause the engine to fuel incorrectly (and the wiring plug is different), and you won't be able to marry up the MAF and Airbox assembly to your V3 inlet pipe as they mount to the chassis with a completely different orientation to the turbo inlet pipe.

I need to get hold of the correct sized MAF adaptor for my K&N cone/trumpet combo... So can anyone tell me what the MY99 STi 5's MAF's bolt holes' W X H pitch is?
