help pls what maf???
just gone to take my induction kit of and replace with a standard airbox and filter as its not been mapped with a induction kit fitted and think this may be causing it to run not quite rite and the holes on the box dont line up with the maf part what maf should be fitted the one on mine has an orange sticker with the following on it
22680 aa271 a36-612 r71 6z18b is this the wrong maf for my car its a 1996 facelift ver 3 sti v limited if any knows could they pls let me know asap as need to go out in an hour or so so need to fit the induction kit back on if needs be and get the correct maf thanks in advance people and i have put the numbers on google and just got a load of results i could not read

yeah airbox is the rite and can only go one way by the looks of it have looked at pics of engine bay and fitted to that looks pretty simple to be honest the holes on maf tube are about the with of the hole out in all cornes i would say about 5-7mm out could drill them out but wonderd if was the correct maf as that may have been the problem and my appoligies its a 1997 not 1996

i brought the airbox as recomended in my other thread on her heading (airbox/pipework help pls) fits fine apart from the holes not rite. if the correct maf can i just drill out the holes and put a washer either side as will no longer have the metal insert in the holes in the box ?

great they are 52mm x 92mm did not know there were any diference I DO NOW LOL so what are the centers i need if you know save me taking the induction kit of again thanks for that and does anyone need this airbox £20 deliverd ???? also anyone have the correct one for me ??????

I haven't read your other thread, but it's possible you've bought and airbox for a 1997/8 UK/WRX which is fitted with a smaller, purple label MAF - You obviously need one for a 1997/8 STi
It sounds like you have the correct MAF sensor ( with orange label )
The early 1992-1996 green label maf and airbox is not suitable for your car - The MAF will cause the engine to fuel incorrectly (and the wiring plug is different), and you won't be able to marry up the MAF and Airbox assembly to your V3 inlet pipe as they mount to the chassis with a completely different orientation to the turbo inlet pipe.
