Default up pipe temp sensor

hi guys i replaced the standard up pipe on my bugeye. i ordered a greedy one but by mistake i bought the one without the temp sensor hole in it only to find out when i had it fitted the car has a sensor. the problem i have is my engine management light keeps coming on because it's not connected to the exhaust. i have heard that you can connect a resistor up to stop the temp sensor turning the management light on is this true if so does anybody know how thanks in advance guys.

Connect a resistor in place of the EGT, or just get the relevant EGT related codes disabled in the ECU.

just put resistor where the plug was removed on the strut tower, but as you are modding a remap will probably follow so can be disabled in the map, think code is P0545 and P0546 to disable the cel light.

Sorry to hijack, but what happens if both sensors, egt and O2 are removed? What repercussions will it have for the ECU and feulling?

The ECU needs both Lambda sensors to work correctly.......... you can re-map out the P0420 CEL code from the rear lambda if de-catted but the ECU still reads from it.

Thanks for that. I have the Prodrive sportcat and second cat delete, only up-pipe left, and I get the P0420 code. Would you expect the car to not drive as well, maybe a little less smooth with this sensor being 'out of range'

CEL P0420 does not change performance in any way, it's just the ECU's way of letting you know the cat is below efficiency (or in your case missing LOL)

Many thanks again! I have been saying this since early 2010, but the remap will remove the CEL once and for all. (cashflow issues have stopped me, although i keep paying out for other little mods!)
