Default newb here, help needed please :S

first of all hi everyone, looking forward to doing a tunnel run as im only in st helens. right, i have an import classic wagon and occasionally (normally once warm) i get what sounds like a loud squeek from behind the dash heater vents. if i lift the bonnet it sounds like its coming from under the intercooler. this disappears when under load but returns on idol in or out of gear. anyone any ideas?

Does it happen when you sharply come off the throttle immediately after the car has been on boost?

If so, it could be split in the IC pipe, or a gap between its/IC's mating flanges, and acting like BOV, venting the charge to atmosphere through the hole/gap.

That said, that wouldn't explain it doing it when the car's idling/at standstill.

Prob a heatshield started rubbing against something. At least it makes the noise when the car's idling, so might help in sussing where it's coming from. Get your snout under the bonnet lol..........

Yeah. A mount, or heatshield... or anything that could fail/work loose, etc.

The only mount that could possibly make that sort of squeeking noise would be a squeeky mount. Is it a squeeeeeeeeeeeeeek or more of a squuuuuuuuuuuuuueeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee eeeeeeeeeeeeeky squeek squeek?
I've no idea. I just wanted to know what a tunnel run is. Cheers.
