Is there anything you've done to the car recently that might have influenced this? For example, have you topped it up with oil and put too much in?

If you can't think of anything obvious like that, you need help from someone who can actually look at your car, there is next to nothing any of us can say on here other than chucking educated guesses at you.

Guesses don't help you in this situation. Symptoms could be anything from a failing turbo or possibly oxygen sensor to serious internal engine damage, and I would suspect it's more likely the latter than the former. You need to know, one way or the other, and quickly, just in case it's something that is worsening as you drive.

About the only thing we can help you with online at this point is the location of a good local specialist. Not in your neck of the woods so can't help with that unfortunately - maybe a browse of your regional forum would be a good idea at this point. Good luck.

Given the symptoms you are reporting, I would agree, it sounds far too serious a problem to be the above on its own. The trouble is that it's possible you have a couple or more different things going wrong here. Hence needing someone to check it out directly rather than guessing.

Probably the best way forward if the AA is an option for you.
