i have a 96 wrx inport went out this morning to go to the shop it is turning over but not fireing any help would be good

 

has it got a immobiliser on it? my old celica immobiliser packed up and would only turn over and not start so dissconnected it, worth a try.

 

Unlikely there is a factory immobiliser on a 96 WRX although if it has an aftermarket alarm it might do then.

If it turns over but doesn't fire crank position sensor could be the culprit. You need to put the car into test mode via the connectors under the dash to see if there are any error codes coming up.

 

it has a cobra alarm on it will get it checked out 2 morr thanks lads

 

Cobra's are good - rarely foul up, if fitted by an accredited VSIB installer.

That's not to say it's impossible, of course.

 

i had a problem like that.

can you hear the fuel pump prime when you turn the ignition before starting?

if not its not working, i replaced the fuel pump - faily easy job and it was sorted.

thats what mine was.

same prob on mine if cant hear pump i spent weeks changin every sensor and relay turned out to be pump earth i drove to work one nite fine then wouldnt start in morn i just soldered an earth in with origional and bolted to top seat mount worked fine for the last year like that
