Thumbs down Help

I yesterday changed my suspension on my 2000 scooby classic and put some lowering springs on.. fronts were fine but as for the rears it took me the best part of an hour to find how to access the top mounts, then i had another issue,

How do i remove the shock? as the brake line seems to be crimped onto the shock and there isnt enough slack to get the shock out... am i going to have to remove the brake line from the caliper? or am i missing something

Thanks,
Dan

yes mate you need to remove the brake hose of the caliper to allow the lower arm to come down enough.

not if you crimp off the brake hose mate you'll get away with just bleeding the rears.

hell no lol not mole grips you need proper brake hose crimpers,if you havent got any then just let it drip and bleed all round as you'll crush the inner core of the hose with mole grips mate.

Far less hassle is just to hacksaw a horizontal slot into the side of the tab on the shock, so the brake-hose can slide in and out. Smooth off the sawn surfaces with emery once the shock's off the car, and paint over with Hammerite or whatever to stop any rust, job done.

when looking at the tab cut at the front face and bend it up so the break pipe can fit through and do the same on the new shock then just bend back straight and push your clip back in mate
