i was expecting that reply from someone, it was not thrashed!! but you can feel the difference in throttle response and feels much smoother.

what temp sensors are there ? and would a failing one cause this trouble ?

You need to post more info mate, mods, driving style/conditions ect.

Sounds like heat soak . ie if your racing around getting it all hot and bothered then get into town traffic this will cause the charge to warm and you will feel a drop in response.

But like i said, more info needed

If the switch between good-power / flat-revs happens as soon as the car's up to temp, then it's much more likely an air-fuel issue than heat-soak. While the car's warming up it's still under choke, and that'll mask the problem until the choke comes off and normal A/F kicks in.
In that case, any of the usual suspects would apply - MAF, induction kit, and so on, plenty of threads on this if you look around. As b13bat pointed out, more info on modifications to the car will be a big help.

that may of just helped me out a little, because also when warm if i feed the throttle in gentle it has good response but if i floor it it doesnt pick up smoothly.

would this suggest its not getting enough fuel? or is the afm goosed?

mods that i know are cone filter, dv delete, decat 3", ngk r plugs. ecu is not mapped.

also its not affected by weather

thanks bjd

MAF might or might not be goosed, but it's pretty immaterial if you're trying to run this model car with those mods and no remap. Even with a brand new MAF, your ECU would never to be able to adjust A/F quickly and well enough for the car to run smoothly under all conditions, but those particular mods are almost guaranteed to shorten your MAFs life-expectancy on top of that.

Either reverse the mods (replace with stock items), fit a mappable ECU, or live with a crappy running car (and count down the days til your engine slowly destroys itself).

Heres a starter for ya, but there are many people on here that can sort you an after-market ECU, just try searching "mappers" it will turn up plenty of posts and ideas

I'm pretty sure Mines ECUs aren't remappable. The best-value option on a MY95 car would probably be an ESL daughterboard, which you can get fitted and mapped from several places for around £500. It just depends what part of the country you're in or where you're prepared to travel to.

I'm not too up on mapping but you will need at least a daughter board. JGM travels IIRC and has a top rep. The idea is, to get all your mods together then have the mapping done, as for nearly every mod you will need another session, as i said not my hottest subject. You could do worse than start a new thread asking for mapping advice

Here are a couple more top names for you, Bob Rawle, JGM, Enginetuner, Dynamix They are all members on here too.

As for more searching, thats the truest comment you have made today
