Hi all, i bought an 07 sti type uk of a vauxhall dealer a couple of weeks ago. When i bought the car everything was fine on the test drive, Whilst driveing home a couple of days later the engine light came on for the last 20 mins or so after giveing it some beans up the motorway.After leaving it overnight the light had gone off. Ive just been using the since to go to work and back which is only a 20 minuit drive and has been fine. I did a 140 rnd trip to go and pick some wheels up and the light came on again about half way their and has been on ever since. The car has had a full turbo back sports cat exhaust put on by the previous owner and a do-luck filter. Do you think that him not mapping the car after the mods has caused the light? The dealer came and picked it up today to sort it out but i personally dont think he can unless he maps it. He said he would do whatever it takes to sort it out even if he has to take it to Subaru. Do you think that Subaru will be able to or even entertain sorting it? Cheers in advance Dave.

 

At a guess with it having a decat and not mapped its probablly going to be

P0420 Catalyst system efficiency below threshold

or

P0546 Exhaust gas temperature sensor circuit

Usually come on on the motorway or dual carrigeway when driving at 60+ constant for while, You can get an opensource mapper to delete the codes from the ECU if it is and get him to map it if they are paying

 

Thanks for the reply. Dont know if it has been mapped or not as the dealer will not disclose the previous owners phone number for me to ask. He was a traffic cop anyway lol.

 

Take it to a mapper mate there are piles on here like JGM, Dynamix, Andy Forrest, Bob Rawle.
