Hmm, the std 220hp rex gives 1.1bar?
The STI spikes higher, but more or less holds 1.05-1.15bar also, depending on gear.

martin, YHM.
sound like you put the turbo body to actuator plumbing back on the wrong way round- the bent bit goes to the actuator (to the left of the t-piece) thus the restrictor is in the wrong place.

Cool

Simon, apologies for breaking ranks! I consider myself suitably chastised for committing such a heinous act........

NB, cheers for the email, I responded before reading your note about the restrictor. Will check it out in a min, once I have done me choirs....

Mash, was your T piece with the restrictor the right way round?

0.75bar is waaay too low! Seems like the std should be hovering around the 1bar mark.

Unless you've missed the restrictor off, it's much more likely that your gauge is knacked than anything else.

Does it feel underpowered? that much diff would be very noticeable.

Question

thanx all for your input so far..

Q, which side does the restrictor go - actuator or turbo output side ? It's currently on the turbo output side in the shorter peice of tubing. If it is the wrong way round, then it's been fitted wrong from new!

Q, Also what does it do ? does it dampen the boost spikes or something as the car definitely has a 'pulsing' sensation (not misefire) under WOT, I wonder if the wastegate is hunting or something due to the restrictor being in the wrong side?

Any clues much appreciated...

Exclamation

Simon, tried it on the wastegate actuator side and it felt slightly slower! also the pipes just dont look right that way round, the longer one with a bend in it seems to naturally go on the actuator with the smaller straight one(with the restrictor) going to the turbo output. I'm confused now...
