has anyone in the glasgow area got a fault code reader, light came on last night and everywhere is shut today to get it checked

 

What year/model is your car? early cars (classics) can have the codes checked by doing a procedure with some plugs under the dash, but its a bit hard to say what yours is as you havnt told us
Always best to give the year/model as it can save a fair bit of faffing about
