Default Simtek or other ecu, gains and differences*?

Hi all Ive currently got a V4 97 type r, im running stock type r internals but have a couple of mods which are full decat, nur spec r exhaust, hdi front mount, blitz dv, apexi filter, parallel fuel mod with adjustable pressure regulator and a avcr (not currently wired in). Ive been looking into different management for the car for a few reason the main been to run safe. Also before i wire in the avcr too as from what I have read simtek etc can control boost?
What sort of management would best suit me? Im not after big power but a good road car that will run safe and hopefully enhance the mods that I have done and maybe along the line adding a bigger turbo. My budget would be around £800-£1000, also any other suggestion? I dont think my standard ecu can be remapped.

standard ecu can't be mapped but esl are soon releasing a board for them.

current simtek is very good option, you could keep or sell the AVCR to help finances as simtek controls the boost very well.

thanx simon that is what i was thinking about doing, I thought the simtek would control boost. Would there be different maps for normal and hard driving ie different boost settings, what sort od price am i looking at to supply and fit? Does it include launch control? Not sure if ill be needing that or antilag thanx again
