Default What Clutch & Turbo recommendations please

Engine is finally going to go away for rebuild very soon so 2.1 stroker will be on its way.
Just after a bit of advice what turbo would you recommend for a nice 400 ish bhp I was thinking a TD05 20G unless you all maybe have a better suggestion if so reasons please.
Also what clutch would you recommend for the above figure or will the standard one handle it ok for a while without sxxxing itself?

I would buy a billet compressor wheel turbo from Scoobyclinic such as the SC40, as these are making good figures with excellent spool up. As for your clutch a single plate ACT clutch would do the job.

All depends on your budget tbh,

I had a 20G on my bug sti, went well and not that laggy tbh. Since fitted an MD321T and the car is totally different, Vast improvement in all areas.

Im using an API Modified Exedy clutch, no judder and has the OE feel.

If you're likely to want a bit more power in the future (who doesn't? ) I recommend that you give Alan at Enginetuner a call to see if they've still got the S206 and AP Racing Organic clutch from my car. They were really only on the car when it was running in the 2.1 and you'll get them for a good price!

Exactly Stuart. It depends on your budget. I cannot remember what you paid for your 20G but the price now for a new one is £850 complete with water pipes, oil drain and ported exhaust inlet which has to represent very good value for money. The MD321T is a completely different turbo in a completely different bracket in terms of top end power and price which is not quite double.
You did very well with your clutch.

As you know Harvey the 20G from yourself made great power 406 with additives and on your headers too.

They have to be the best bang for buck Turbo out there tbh. The only reson for change was i wanted more. Both the headers and Turbo are going onto a local car and that will be mapped soon and i expect to see similar results.

Just trying to convince the guy to go FMIC whilst he is doing all this

Regardless of what the car is, Classic or New Age, with your old turbo it is way past the point of needing an FMIC and you probably have the figures to show the benefits between FMIC and TMIC.
