Tonight, at Wickes, came to drive away, turned the key, starter made a weird grating whine, but wasn't turning the engine over.
Then it did the same again. I took the handbrake off, tried again and it started as normal.

Have I got another problem on the way?

 

sound like the soliniod got stuck and didnt throw the gear out that grabs hold of the fly wheel might be wise to get her checked cause it could pack in completly,did you have it in gear when you released the handbrake by any chance.

 

Six speed or five speed starter fitted ?
