just had remap on my 1997 sti runing 1.5 bar now with vf35 forged engine but now after giving it some alot of white smoke any ideal

 

sounds like she could be burning bit of water in the combustion chamber which could be head gasket mate what else are u running with 1.5 bar?

 

1000 mile new forged engine rcm pistons/oil pump laterel perforance injectors simtec fmic cdf pulleys equal headers 2.3/4 decat vf35 8.5mm ht leads cosworth sump

 

not lossing any water

when youve give give it aboot full and climbrd through the revs and let off and the revs start to fall back down is it worse or the same

 

its hard to say but if i stop at a red light vere is a big white cloud of smoke and when i boot it and let of the revs

 

Who mapped it, and have you done a compression test?

 

the thing is white smoke usually indicates water being burnt,is there smell to the smoke ie heavy petrol or does it smell kinda sweet,the reason i ask is it could be running lean which can have whitish grey colour which would smell like petrol or if its sweetish then that water/anti-freeze [engine coolant] being burnt

when avehicle runs rich it would have blue/black smoke so if it was me id go back and c him to ask if all the paramators are still in check like your lambda sensor and so on,sounds like something has gone amis though cause it might smoke abit on full chat and over run with your set up and power,it needs to be alittle rich but not white and not all the time.

wouldnt have thought so cause you would smell the oil in the smoke if shed gone,how old is the turbo?

well now u say lol,it prob going to be turbo as running 1.5 is about the limit on that unit but cing as its anew build it could be something to do with that as well,how many miles she done fella.

 

i have done only 500 miles but turbo was already on it but running 1.1 bar did not smoke

 

that seems abit soon to be pumping 1.5 bar through her,what power u running mate?run in time is usually 800/1000 miles befor you have full map done.

 

Won't be a mapping issue as Dave proper knows his stuff.
It definately sounds like you've done an oil seal on the turbo.

 

got car off a mate he had engine done ran it in for 1000 miles then i got it and only done 500 miles i have had it 8 mouths put full cage spax coilovers toyos

 

wouldnt doubt the guy daz only heard good stuff myself but dont u think 500 miles is abit soon to be full mapping afresh engine?

my mistake fella i thought youd only done 500,well on that id defo take that turbo back to wear it came from caused its most likely that whats ****ed,took some time to get to the conclusion ah lol.
