Default Rear Diff faulty - power loss question

My rear diff on my Ver6 Type R is definetley on its way out & is to be rebuilt in the next few weeks.

Can a diff in this state lose power on a Rolling Road?

"If" the diff is binding it can create extra drag, effecting performance.

The diff started off clicking for a several months, then last month, on full lock at slow speeds it started rattling & clunking a lot (DCCD fully open - last green) & recently has started whinning on full to medium lock at very slow speeds.

Was at a rolling road day yesterday where it produced poor results, everything else was fine with engine/map etc. Mapper/technician was at hand & everything else is running perfectly on the car. The only thing I can think of is losses caused by the faulty diff?

ps on a Dyno Dynamics roller in shootout mode, I dont think will work out individual car run down losses. Had this been measured then any extra drag caused by the faulty rear diff could be taken out of the equation?
