hi what should the oil pressure be in bar on my 95 wrx when engine is warm on tickover,oil in car is mobil fully synthetic 10/50

 

on my new age with 10w40 its about 2 on tickover warm and 6 to 7 revving warm

 

any body else

 

3bar then 6 on power, is abotu the norm, can vary a bit though depending on what revs the idle is set at etc

 

i use 10/50 oil, mine is about 2.5 bar hot idle and between 5.5 and 6 while driving.

 

classic 10/50

90-100ish deg oil

2.5 bar idle 6 on power

100-108ish deg 2.3ish bar idle, 6 power

 

mines less than 1 bar when warm any ideas

 

should i worry

 

in aword yes mate,something is waorn internally to make it that low or knackered oil pump get it checked old fruit before disaster

 

how easy is it to change oil pump
my car as been mapped to 335 bhp by andrew carr,has got apexi commander with knock sensor and its ok
oil pressure rises with revs
is it engine out to change oil pump

 

no the oil pump is on the front of the engine behind the timing belt,can be done in situe,if the pressure rises with revs how high does it get,does it the reach the manufactures reading at 3-4k revs?

 

3k 4k oil pressure is about 2 bar roughly

 

defo to low mate id recommend not driving if not already as its running 345 bud,id say oil pump first as thats the cheapest,stripping the motor will get costly so try pump first,id go with rcm one as your motor isnt standard to mate.Ryan

 

just changed oil pump for rcm one now its ok 2 bar on tickover when warm 6 plus when driving happy days

hi mate i have rcm pump on 1997 sti and mine is just over 3 on tickover & 7 driving at 3.5 revs
