Decat power loss

Decat power loss
Can anyone direct me in the right direction?
I have just fitted a full decat stainless steel exhaust system, since doing so when I have the revs high I get the car cut out on me momentarily then back in. At 90mph it was doing it quite frequently. I have a 97 WRX turbo. Tried running car with no air filter as someone said it may not be getting enough air in but still have the same problem! I only have one o2 sensor straight after the turbo on which was previously before the catalytic converter, so the decat shouldnt matter??

Could it be fuel cut with too much boost now the cat has gone? There have been a lot of threads on here about the back pressure question, I thought with an non turbo car that you can have too little back pressure but not with a turbo?

As said above mate you need the car remapped you cant just fit things like a full decat and expect the car to run 100 percent, On the up side after the new map the car will feel like a rocket ship on the down side it will cost between £300 -£600.

Didn't think it would need a remap straight away! If that's the case ill drive it round at low revs until I can afford a dump valve and induction kit. Does anyone recommend an induction kit for that year? Or should I replace the panel filter for an aftermarket one, I've heard that an induction kit can play havoc with the maf because of all the hot air from the turbo, can they take that into account when remapping?

They can take all sorts into account.
Not really worth getting inductions kit just a good panel filter. As for dump valve you want see any gains just noise. The OE one is as good as.
I'd get it mapped asap to be honest.
The fuelling might not be fine as you said above, just because its fine afterwards doesnt mean its fine, it could be running lean, and knocking its **** off. The ECU cuts out for a reason, knocking, fuel starvation, or over boosting, of course there are a few more reason, but there the main ones.

Have a look in this thread from General forum mate. I can personally vouch for Simon (JGM) and as you can see plenty have good experiences from others too
