Question obd reader

hi iv got a late 1999 classic subaru impreza uk spec could anyone tell me which obd reader will work on these cars justd wanna find a fault code be told some obd readers work on the new age not the old if so were can you get these obd readers from many thanks j

There are no generic OBD/OBD2 readers that work on classics (unless you have a US market car), so that part of the answer to your question is easy.

However, that's largely a moot point as you don't need any sort of external device to read fault codes, you can do it yourself just by plugging in some connectors under the dash and reading off the flash sequence on the check engine light. Just search the forum for the term "black plugs" and all will be revealed.
