ECU fault - injector output failure
On behalf of a friend who is having a problem with the ECU
Car: 54 plate Bugeye
Problem: Injector 1 output failure from ECU
Symptoms: Misfire cylinder one
Does anyone know if the ECU can be repaired or how much a new or refurbed ECU will cost.
Any recommendations or advice appreciated.
The car is based in Norfolk if that makes any difference.
Cheers Andy.

If the injector driver MOSFET has failed, then, yes, from a technical point of view that can be replaced easily. Although, I don't know of anyone doing that kind of job on a commercial basis.
Cheapest way of replacing the ECU would probably be via a used one from a breaker or eBay - although if it's a UK car you would have the extra knock-on cost of resyncing the immobiliser.
