Default boost guage needle shaking?

hey.

I plumbed my boost guage in yesterday, but the needle shakes a lot when iver 5psi ish? Anybody know why this may be?

I plumbed it into the same feed as my boost controller, off the manifold? Could that be the problem? Its just t-pieces in?

If so, where else can I plumb it into to get a good reading?

Usually there is a little restrictor in the t piece which evens out the flow and stops the needle shaking .

The manifold is the ideal place to plug it into, and dont know about any restrictor apart from between the turbo outlet & the wastegate.I plugged mine direct from the dash straight to the inlet manifold as do most people. What model year car do you have as on some of the later classics there is a spare plug on the inlet manifold ,which most people use.

Put a tie wrap around the pipe and tighten it until the vibration stops.

I have a MY99 UK car. I`ll have a look on the manifold and try to find an extra plug. As im pretty sure having the boost controller and guage plumbed into the same nipple isnt helping things?
