Default Why are some forged rods 5.137" and some 5.141" ?

Does this make any difference in head clearence? theoreticly it should..

but how much?
how much head clearence is there on a standard ej20 engine?

Planning an engine build with a 2.0L odb. Standard 75mm crank, manley forged rods (5.141"), and some forged pistons, havent decided the pistons yet.

But do i have to take this diff in rod lenght into the calculation?

Thanks

Manley site lists the longer rods as being STI, the shorter NA and WRX

I'm quite interested to know this too... Are the STI piston bores in a different place? Not that 4 thou is gonna make a huge difference.

We trial assemble every engine, as no two blocks are the same!
