My v2 sti ra has started to make a strange rattling noise mid way through the rev range sounds sweet at idle. Its not really noticeable when driving except in second gear. it sounds a bit like its coming from under the intercooler but cant be sure where it is coming from as you need to rev it some before it does it. My question is, if this is a problem inside the engine would it also be doing it at idle. Could it be cluch related? Would the knock sensor bring on a fault if it was the engine? Any help appreciated. Cheers

 

Quite possible its corroded/broken heat shield on the headers/up-pipe.
